Scriptwise privacy policy

Scriptwise is a study app for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE), made by BlackNerd Studio Limited (“we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use Scriptwise on your phone or on the web, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Using Scriptwise without an account: we keep your answers and progress under a random ID with no name or email, so Scriptwise works before you sign up. If you sign up, they move to your account.
- Account details: your email address, and your name if you give it to us or sign in with Apple or Google. If you sign in with Apple and choose “Hide My Email”, we receive a private relay address from Apple instead of your email.
- Sign-in data: an identifier from Apple or Google when you sign in with them. We never see your Apple or Google password.
- Purchases: when you buy Exam Pass, Apple (on iPhone), Google Play (on Android) or Stripe (on the web) processes the payment. We receive the purchase record (product, transaction or order ID and date) so we can unlock it on your account. We never see your card details.
- Study activity: the questions you answer, your results and your progress, so the app can track your readiness.
- Question reports: when you report a problem with a question, the reason you pick and any note you write, so we can check and fix it.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data (device model, OS version, app version and what the app was doing when it failed), used only to fix problems.
- Product usage and screen recordings: which screens and features are used, and recordings of your screens and taps in the app and on this website. Recordings show what’s on screen, including your email, name, answers and any notes you write. They don’t show passwords, sign-in codes or what you type into email fields, and on this website they don’t show anything you type. We use them to find what’s hard to use and to improve Scriptwise.
On this website, cookies keep you signed in, and PostHog’s cookie tells your visits apart so we can see how the site is used. If you’re in the UK or Europe, we ask before using PostHog’s cookie, and you can say no. We don’t use cookies for advertising.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Who processes it for us
Apple (payments and Sign in with Apple), Google (Google Play payments and Sign in with Google), Stripe (web payments), Render (hosting our servers and database), Vercel (hosting this website), Sentry (crash reports) and PostHog (product usage and screen recordings, stored in the EU). They handle data only to provide these services to us.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your account details, study activity, purchase records and sign-in links. Apple, Google and Stripe keep their own records of your payments.
We delete screen recordings after 30 days. Usage events are tied to a number, not your name or email, and stay with PostHog after you delete your account.
Deleting your account
In the app or on the web, open your profile and choose Delete account. This removes your account straight away and disconnects Sign in with Apple. You can also ask us to delete it.
Children
Scriptwise is meant for adults preparing for a professional exam and isn’t directed at children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
